Inkpad is a powerful vector artwork creation tool available on the iPad. With its precise drawing capabilities and fast performance, it allows users to create beautiful designs effortlessly.

One of the key features of Inkpad is its ability to align objects to grids, points, or path edges, making it easy to create accurate compositions. For more artistic freedom, users can also draw freehand bezier paths using the brush tool. Managing objects is a breeze with the ability to select, scale, and rotate hundreds of objects in real-time. Additionally, the software offers masking capabilities for cutting out elements from artwork, photographs, or patterns.

With Inkpad's flexible typography effects, users have complete control over their text. They can position the text at any angle or make it follow paths. Multiple effects such as stroke, fill, shadow, and opacity are dynamically adjustable, providing endless creative possibilities. In case the built-in fonts don't meet your design needs, you can import any OpenType or TrueType font.

Another standout feature of Inkpad is its support for unlimited layers. Users can organize their drawings by adding as many or as few elements in each layer as they desire. Renaming, rearranging, deleting, hiding, and locking layers can all be done effortlessly while drawing. Isolating the active layer for editing and adjusting each layer's transparency independently enhances the composition process.

When it comes to editing, Inkpad offers powerful tools at your fingertips. Scaling and rotating single or multiple elements is made easy with intuitive tools. Users can also group individual elements together and edit gradient fills interactively on the canvas. The software also supports various Boolean operations on paths such as Unite, Intersect, Exclude, and Subtract Front.

Inkpad provides a rich color selection experience with options like an expressive color wheel and RGB and HSB sliders for modifying colors. Users can also enter hexadecimal values to precisely match existing artwork colors or use the dropper tool to sample colors. Custom colors can be stored and recalled from the swatch library.

The app allows for seamless import and export of drawings. Users can import drawings from desktop vector applications as SVG files or import photos directly from their camera roll. Inkpad also supports the import of PNG and JPEG images from cloud services. As for exporting, users can share their drawings or import them into other apps as SVG, PDF, PNG, or JPEG files. Integration with popular cloud storage services simplifies file management, and drawings can be saved directly to the camera roll as photos.

Inkpad supports both light and dark modes, adapting to the system appearance settings. Users also have the option to override the system setting and choose between light or dark mode specifically for Inkpad.

For iPad Pro or 2018 iPad users, Inkpad works seamlessly with the Apple Pencil, enhancing the drawing experience.

Inkpad owes its success not only to its features but also to the artwork contributed by talented individuals such as Martin Coffey, Rita Flores, Yve Müller, Armin Popp, David Rivera, Nicolas Saez, Erick Villagomez, Felipe Villela, and Jason Wray. Inkpad's history dates back to 2011 when it was originally created by Steve Sprang. However, the app disappeared from the App Store in 2015. The development was later taken over by the current developer motivated by their own love for the app and feedback from users like Lindsay.
